Tirana International Airport (TIA), which is Albania’s main airport, is about 20–30 minutes from the city centre by taxi or airport bus.
Tirana currently has no operational central train station. Albania’s rail network is limited, so long‑distance travel is handled mainly by buses and private transport.
Long‑distance and regional buses operate mainly from the Tirana Regional Bus Terminal (TRIT), located on the city’s western edge and offering frequent routes across Albania and into neighbouring countries.
Tirana has a strong cafe and coworking scene, especially around Blloku, Pazari i Ri, Lana River and the city centre, supported by the city’s tech, creative and student communities.
Groceries are easy to find throughout the city, with major options including Big Market, Spar, Eco Market, Conad and numerous minimarkets and fresh‑produce shops.
Tirana is walkable in the central districts, while longer distances are covered using local buses and taxis. The city’s compact layout makes travel between Blloku, Pazari i Ri and Skanderbeg Square simple.
