Sarande Essentials

Closest Airport

Corfu International Airport (CFU) is the fastest option. Take a 30–70 minute ferry from Corfu to Sarande depending on the operator. Tirana Airport is also possible but much farther (4–5 hours by car).

Closest Train Station

Sarande has no train station. Albania’s rail network does not reach the south, so long‑distance travel is handled entirely by buses, ferries, and private transport.

Closest Bus Station

Long‑distance and regional buses operate mainly from the Sarande Bus Terminal, offering frequent routes to Tirana, Vlore, Gjirokaster and Ksamil.

Cafes & Coworking

Sarande has a relaxed cafe and emerging coworking scene, especially along the promenade, in the city centre and around Rruga Skenderbeu, supported by the city’s tourism and seasonal remote‑work communities.

Groceries

Groceries are easy to find throughout the city, with major options including Big Market, Spar, Eco Market, Conad and numerous minimarkets.

Getting Around

Sarande is walkable along the waterfront and central areas, while longer distances are covered using local buses and taxis. Travel between Sarande, Ksamil and the Albanian Riviera is straightforward along the coastal road.
